Trey Harris

Team Lead

Hi, I am Trey Harris. I am one of the leads and the primary AVR pilot on this amazing team. I have been on the team for three years, but this year I organized our team presentation, flight practices, and advised the design processes of our vehicles as part of my leadership duties. Outside of robotics, I am an avid cyclist with Westlake's cycling team and a cello player in our school's orchestra.

Cal Crockett

Programming Lead

Howdy, my name is Cal Crockett and I am the software lead. Last year, I worked heavily with YOLO vision models and learned about machine learning and data science. Next year, I am excited to explore autonomy and VLAs. Outside of robotics, I am a rock-climbing classical guitarist who also plays cello in Orchestra.

Alexa Kerr

Design Lead

Hello, my name is Alexa Kerr! I'm a designer, and this year I worked primarily on our drone pickup mechanism and a semi-automatic sorter prototype for our rover. For the offseason, I'm the Fundraising Lead. I'm currently improving my Python skills and learning more about building circuits with Arduino!

Alex Schueppert

RVR Pilot

Hi, my name is Alex Schueppert! I am the team's RVR Pilot and I spent a lot of time working with the RVR's hardware and software. As this is my first year on the team, I have spent a lot of time learning everything and fell in love with drones. This led me to make a drone real estate company. Other than that I enjoy playing cello and camping.

Ollie Ficklin

Field Manager

My name is Ollie Ficklin and I am a freshman and first-year member of the team. During the season I was in charge of the vast majority of tasks dealing with our practice field. I was constantly building, upgrading, and receiving feedback about the field. During the competitions I used a mission control board to receive and display information to help the team. In my free time I love running and playing with my cats.

Quinn Thatcher

Designer

Hi, my name is Quinn. I am a design lead and am in charge of teaching the new batch of team members how to CAD. This year I improved my design skills and my ability to integrate with other designs. I am excited to continue on to college and to become an engineer. Outside of robotics, I play the bari sax in the marching band and I like to play video games.

Ella Berman

Designer

Hi, my name is Ella. I joined AVR this year and specialize in SolidWorks and 3D design. This year I've been in the process of learning the SolidWorks software and designing graphics for the slide show. I like to paint and make music in my free time, along with cooking and making new culinary discoveries.

Brody Fish

Hi! Im Brody. I am this teams premier Sphero pilot. I also work on our teams graphic design and fundraising. Outside of AVR, I play the cello for the Westlake High School Philharmonic Orchestra.

Anay Gokhale

Programmer

Hello, my name is Anay Gokhale and I am currently a senior at Westlake High School. This season, I was in charge of developing the computer vision algorithm used by the DEXI drone to scan images and output their associated color. Through this process, I learned how to curate specific datasets, making sure to include a variety of images, including null examples, to create the most optimal model. Next year, I am looking forward to continuing my journey within robotics at the University of Texas at Austin, where I will be studying Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Adi Pangam

Hi, my name is Adi and I am a member of the Westlake AVR robotics team. In this past year I have learned a lot as a new member about the competition and the program. I also learned many new concepts regarding coding, engineering, and how to pilot a Sphero. I hope to stay with this team until graduation and to learn new concepts throughout my time on this team. In my free time I enjoy playing sports like golf and tennis, as well as participating in other activities like playing violin.

Oliver Sun

Hi, my name is Oliver Sun! My journey into computer science started with a simple curiosity about how code powers the world, but through AVR, I became obsessed with bringing that code to life through robots and drones. I love bridging the gap between software and hardware, especially when implementing machine learning and smart search algorithms to make autonomous systems smarter and more efficient. I'm incredibly excited to keep learning and pushing the boundaries of what these machines can do.

Bo Crockett

Mentor

Bo Crockett is a founding principal of Reach Architects in Austin, Texas. A passionate maker and designer, he thrives on turning ideas into bespoke design details; from modern residences to boutique restaurants and bridges. He studied architecture and served as a design critic at Yale University. Bo brings his love of creative problem-solving and hands-on design to mentoring the robotics team, inspiring students to build, innovate, and explore multiple solutions with the same joy he finds in architecture.

Glen Harris

Mentor

I am a computer engineer working as a microprocessor logic designer for Arm. I am passionate about the value of education and experiential learning. I’ve served as a mentor for Team 2468A for two years, initially in a support role absorbing as much as possible from our former mentors and then transitioning to a co-leadership role. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with family, mountain biking, experiencing live music, lifelong learning, adventure travel, and making friends through work that matters.
